I think the Golds are made in England. Also supply and demand.

I bagged a pair of Silver Series (Chinese) Celestion 10s used for $40, and they have been on point. I use them in a 2X10 extension cab for larger rooms and outdoor gigs. Not high miles exactly, so I can't speak to lifespan, but I suspect they'll be around well after my show is over.

The Silver Series was made in the UK. I have a 12V60 in one amp, and it is a good speaker. They were the Celestion lower price speakers before they had the Chinese factory.

I just put a GB into my Pro Jr. Sounds awesome, and still not broken in. Also shaved off 4 pounds from the Weber 10F150-T that was in it before.

would you think a greenback 10 would be a good match for a clone of blackface Champ and tweed champ (switchable circuit) for home playing (blues, rock) ?
I look for low efficiency speaker and greenback 10 and WGS Veteran 10 are on my list.

I know greenback is more associated with marshall tone, which I also like to approach form time to time (if my amp allows it, or with pedals).
