That is quite nice. Congrats. I’m a bit disappointed with the selection they have though. I want a double cut and I don’t think they are offering them this year.
Gibson has that double cut Les Paul Junior that you might like. They have been on sale lately too
Nice guitar! I’ll bet it sounds great through the Mesa Boogie!
The Epiphone LPJ and a Mesa Fillmore 25 is definitely a sweet sounding combination.

I’ve seen that tribute model and I’m sure it’s a fine player but I don’t like that pick guard mounted design. I like the traditional design. I’m on the lookout for and older Epiphone. Just a matter of time, I hope.

The new inspired by Gibson line is starting to ship from online retailers. I received my Epi Les Paul Junior a couple days ago. I just want to say that this is a really great guitar. Be warned that it has quite the chunky neck. I have large hands, I like the thicker profile. The fit and finish are great, and much to my surprise, the setup was quite acceptable straight from the box. The guitar does “the Les Paul Junior thing” quite well. Raucous, hot P90, makes my Mesa Boogie break up quickly. Tone pot is super responsive, and sweeps the tone from dark to bright. Still in the honeymoon phase, but loving it.

Very cool .

But , every time I hear the “chunky neck” warning about some guitar (Baja Tele, original Jeff Beck Strat, Cray Strat, etc) I encounter them in person and end up doing the “chunky chuckle” - like this is supposed to be big ?

Congrats Stratandtele.

A great looking guitar from the front......although we could actually use a couple more photos showing the back of the guitar. So far however, it looks like an excellent find, back and front, regardless of any preferences I may have.

The reason I'm interested is that one of my Les Paul Juniors is an Epi 1957RI Junior, which has been in the family from new. It originally was bought by my son, but a little horse trading and it became mine.

The Epi 57RI has a beautifully made set neck. It was therefore a rare (from Epi) set neck, single cut Junior. The one real weakness it had, was the P100 dog ear pickup that it came with (again, my opinion only), but having a spare SD Antiquity P90 from another Guitar available, I installed the P90 into the '57RI. With the addition of a set of 'Made in W.Germany' Schaller tuners and a compensated Faber bridge I had handy, I had what is now one of the nicest playing Juniors I have ever played, regardless of manufacturer.

The key to this whole project was the fact that this guitar was not only a beautifully made guitar, but it matched my other Junior/Specials by having the set neck ....... and to my mind this made this guitar an equal in every way to the three or four vintage Juniors I still have along with some other later Juniors, Specials and CS versions of these guitars.

Yours looks to have a very pretty single neck body. No problem if it has a bolt-on neck either, ....... just like my much loved teles, ........ but to keep things in order my Junior/ Specials need to be different from my Teles in some significant way, regardless of pickups.

No logical reason why, I suppose. That's just the way I am and that happens to be my personal preference.

Btw, I am a big Epi fan. My first guitars were Epis, and I am very happy to see the brand rising from the Gibson shadows once more. Long may they continue to flourish!

Thanks Tony, this guitar is also a set neck. The set neck was one of the reasons I picked this guitar up. I wanted an Epi LPJ for a while, but avoided the bolt on necks. Fun guitar that won’t break the bank.

I am a pretty large dude, I can easily palm a basketball. This neck feels noticeably larger and chunkier than any of my other guitars.

I was originally going to buy one of the Gibson LPJ tribute guitars, then I tried one at the local GC. It wasn’t for me.

Very cool guitar! I love the sound of P90s, and that one was on my radar for a while. But I ended up getting the 60s Standard in ebony. It’s on the truck and heading my way!

I figured my first Gibson-like device ought to be a Standard, and if I like it I will probably circle back to that Junior. Or maybe the Special. Something with P90s!

Have fun with that standard, the P90’s are a blast.

Cheap but great SG-ish ?

A used, recent reissue Gretsch Corvette would be my recommendation. Great Filtertron pickups unique to this guitar, light weight , Gigsby counterbalances it, round neck carve . Mine cost $400

I had an Epiphone Dot semi-hollow electric and an Epiphone acoustic that were both uninspiring and almost dead-sounding. But a few years ago I got a very cheap Epiphone Les Paul Jr. guitar much less sexy than the one purchased by the OP, with dual P90s and a dull black finish, and it plays and sounds like a dream.

I don’t think you can go wrong with this 2020 run of Epiphones. The quality/price/value bell curve is at a peak.

Unfortunately, they aren’t all perfect, and I’m not the only one to find it so. My 2020 Epi SG Special had a few non level frets and a poor routing/pickup install. Sent it back and got a Gibson LP Special Tribute DC instead. Otherwise it would of been a great deal.

EVERY guitar brand lays an egg sometimes, I guess I got a good one.

Great, just great. Thanks, Gibson, you've done it to me again.

For years I've wanted a Moderne and have never been able score one. So, I bought a fake Chibson Moderne from AliExpress. It sucked, and I had to spend a considerable amount of money making it right. Then, hooray!! Here comes Gibson with an Epiphone Moderne!!! ARRRGGHH!!! Of course I had to buy one, because it was "official", and heaven knows when I would get the chance again.

I've wanted a single cut Junior and have never been able score one. So, I bought a Harley Benton SC-Junior Vintage Sunburst. It's a good guitar but the bridge has a high profile and it's not possible to lower it enough to get it close to the pickup. I'm replacing it with a Wilkinson bridge that has a lower profile, also I'm upgrading the pots. The pickup isn't all that, but I replaced the ceramic magnets with alnicos and I need to wax it before re-installing it. But.... Hooray!!! Here comes Gibson with an Epiphone Single cut Junior! Of course I have to buy one, because it's "official", and heaven knows when I'll get the chance again.

ARRRGGHH!!!
