Ramon! That is simply sick! I love it. I've got an old Teisco pickguard with two old gold foils, vol/tone and on/off switch for each pickup. I need to find me a body and make some sort of tele-tulip.

As Frank inquired, what are those pickups? Are you getting the tones you were looking for? sure hope so. Thanks for sharing. she's a beauty!

Thanks man! Well I thought it was cool doing it to a tele as opposed to the commonly used strat for a coodercaster style guitar. Its a little different tone actually compared to to a strat setup - I love it - as I said above they are Mojo pickups - I will make a clip and post here very soon
thanks

I’ve had the same project in mind for over a decade, planning to use a Reverend Rick Vito, Supro style, (Dual Pro bridge humbucker) to a GFS Gold Foil neck pickup, on an alder tele body, with a trem route.

sounds perfect - I love those supro style guitars - I own a 1960s Supro Sahara myself

What does the cover over the bridge pickup do, or is it purely cosmetic? If it is ferrous metal I imagine it might affect the tone somewhat.

My understanding is that its part of the magnetic field created by the two magnets either side - in fact the originals from the 50s (which I have on my other coodercaster) only have one magnet - the other is a piece of wood painted in metallic paint!

Cool. I have a Squier strat body that I'd love to convert to a Coodercaster. I'll look up the Mojo guys for the pickups. I cant think what else would be needed - thick strings, high(ish) action, tastefully colourful pickguard. Anything else?

I’ve been thinking of doing one of these. Does this type of setup work with conventional playing (strumming, string bending) or is it just good for slide? By the way, there are some nice demos of this Mojo pickup on YouTube. Check out Waterslide guitars.

Its a great pickup for everything - takes a little getting used to - you might have to tweak your overal gear setup but its well worth it for a unique and very cool tone.

Hi all,

Here is my Coodercaster Tele. I finally finished the build over the weekend. Thanks for the inspiration and tips Ramon.

I’ll be posting another thread detailing the build process in the coming days.

Nice build. Where did you get the body for this? I haven't seen a coodercaster-tele version without a pickguard before. Looks very sleek!
