It looks pretty nice. Could be fixed up some. What do you think it's actually worth?

My brother-in-law has one, I set it up for him and it plays and sounds good. You can buy 'em new for around $300 so the price is way off on a used one.

Or, you can buy a MH, Tuf dog really made in the USA used for around $4000 I've seen 'em as little as $3500 here locally. Actually in Porterville about an hours drive from my house. The lister had it in there forever though. I don't know if it sold or if he just took it down.

You have to be of a certain bent to want a Tuf Dog even a real one, they are a bit gaudy in any iteration. It's odd to those who like it, gold on anything looks great, by that I mean gold anodized hardware on cars etc. To those who are averted to the look, it just comes on as cheap looking.

Exactly. I looked them up and they are all over the sites sponsored by the marketing arm of our favorite "we reverse engineer" everything country. All those I saw could be had for $300 or less.

Maybe I missed it, but where in that ad did it say "Inexcusable Rip Off of a Fender Guitar"? It appears to me as a scumbag trying to pass it off as a Fender.

Must be rough going through life without testicles...

No rear body shots to see if it's even set-in neck, although having seen the faux Tuff Dogs all over the China sites, I'm giving Merrill's seller the benefit of doubt. Not that I'm a potential buyer.

Yeah maybe if you wanted to hang it on the wall as a decoration I would spend $150.00 on it.

But please don't consider you are getting a quality guitar if you plan to buy one of these copies. I had investigated one of the sites they come from, and they are definitely breaking the law.

Omaha? Has he mowed house? I thought it was Okefenokee, the northern part. In Gawga.

I think he's selling the Chinese version of the Merle Haggard Fender version trying to pass it off as an actual Fender which it isn't. But the name Merrill Haggard just sound like a guy who peddles insurance and somehow or another most of them have either lived or been trained in Omaha at one time or another. ;)

Omaha is just one of those cities that is to insurance what Milwaukee once was to beer or Pittsburgh was to steel. How the guitar then traveled to Upstate New York is not revealed in this story.

A quick comparison of the bridge and saddles tells the story. Here's a real one.
