I'm looking for some detailed help on how to wire an output jack using shielded cable. I am confused because the line that goes to the sleeve should be a ground wire, but then I'm also grounding the outside of the shield. I've read through quite a few posts, some which mention that using shielded cable for the output jack doesn't add any value in a single coil, but still I'd like to try it and am unsure how to proceed.
1. Assuming that I am going to be using a shielded cable, am I also using a typical wire (cloth wire in this case) for the other contact on the output jack?
2. Which connection at the jack gets the shielded wire the negative (ground in this case) or the positive).
3. If one of the connections is ground and the other is + signal could I just use a single shielded cable both of the output jack connections and connect the outside shield to the negative jack connection and in the inside wire to the positive side?
