I heard this song for the first time this week.

Then, I'm watching TV and on comes this Lipton Tea ad. Blew my mind that they'd use a song called "Son of a Beotch" in such a mainstream ad. BTW...I love the song! Of course I think the ad would have been more effective if they broke into the chorus for at least two bars...:)

For the life of me I can't recall who on here turned us on to the Night Sweats a week ago but I thank him as well! I just love how Nathaniel's vocals on this song ride that ragged edge where it almost breaks...

Wish I could do that..

One of the guys I play with thought we should do thay song a few months back. Great idea but we'd just butcher the hell out of it.
Great song though!

Yea. Like too. If there were not a lot of colorful expletives it would do great on most radio wAves

Our singer wanted to do it as well. I like the style and the performance, just not crazy about the song itself. I think it would get pretty tired after after about a minute.

Like I said earlier, this man's voice just makes it happen. Did you ever love a song solely on the impact of one line or word? The first time he sings SOB! just gives me goose bumps. I can agree that maybe some would get tired of it...just not me!:) The groove of the thing works. Many other of their songs move me the same way.

Who've thought a song about alcoholic withdrawals could be so.... Fun sounding.?

The whole record is just so well done. His performances on Jools Holland are really worth checking out as well.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. It's the performance and (to some degree) the production (and even then, I have a hard time sticking with it through the entire track). I just don't think it's a strong enough song for a bar band to cover. I do want to check out their other stuff.

A friend turned me on to them a couple months ago. Their performance of S.O.B. on Jimmy Fallon's show is great. The CD is also very good - I really like the kind of "old school" vibe in the recording (like the vid). (But, yeah, I think a lot of this is going to take someone like Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats to pull off in a bar.)

I just watched that vid. WOW!

Someone once asked if a heavy, bald guy could front a band. The answer is COOL beats SKINNY with HAIR any day of the week. And check out those happy feet. Dwight Yoakam got nothin' on this dude!!!

THEN, you ordered 400 lbs of Lipton Tea from Amazon. You know with A-Fib you ain't supposed to be drinkin' that stuff! (I know, my wife says the same thing, don't embarrass everyone by repeating it!) I didn't know SHE listened to that kind of music!!! :D:D:D
