where did you see neck-only teles on youtube?
you'll see a billion bridge-only teles... but the neck-only builds aren't very common. here's mine:

I really like that, the bridge in particular looks strange without the bridge pup in it...Now I'm wondering how I could build one or modify an existing Tele, but with a few tweaks such as standard chrome Tele knobs, maple neck and a different colour pick guard.

I could totally rock a Necksquire!

But I agree they can look a little weird; I keep the bridge pup "just in case", even though I rarely use it...

Ooh I really like the look of that made-for-jazz Tele!

I don't play Jazz though I still like the idea and guess that with a the right humbucker it would play rock too.

Blasphemy!

:D Though it's only really blasphemy if someone did that to a vintage Tele IMHO. A Partcaster seems fair game to me.

EDIT: I've found somewhere I can buy a body from without the bridge pup routing (basically a Cabronita which I can get them to route for a full size humbucker in the neck position and not route the bridge one). The bridge itself is the hard part though, so maybe a hard tail Strat bridge would do, but what I like about the one above is the long bridge with no pup slot in it.

I wasn't even looking for another Tele before I saw this thread...

thats how most of my guitars are. getting a body without the bridge rout is a giant hassle... so usually i either just disconnect the bridge or leave it in and neglect that position.

That guitar looks amazing!

thanks! body was by peachstate guitars back when he was still cranking them out. don't know what happened to him... must've got sick of it? he did excellent work

Not so hard. Try one of these.

i ended up switching over to the half ashtray bridge on mine. $30 for the wilkerson is a hell of a deal... or just cut a stock one in half like i did

I could rock one of the old Sears Tele's with it's single pickup, although it's closer to a middle pickup than a neck pickup.
