OK here is a fun poll for Friday. Forgive me if there is anything similar to this posted already.

Here is the scenario:

You have a long lost rich uncle, who you didn't even know existed. So he pops up one day and says something like,

"Well <state your name>, I have been following you around on the TDPRI for a while now and and I see you have been infected with EPG, Endless Pedal Gas. I am going to help you save you from yourself. I happen to have a spare desert Island. You may retire to the Island (with your family if you choose to), all expenses covered --- On ONE CONDITION. Take as many guitars as you want and up to 3 amps. BUT YOU CAN ONLY BRING EFFECTS PEDALS FROM ONE PEDAL MANUFACTURER. This EPG has to stop!"

So there it is. The way I see it you have 4 choices.

1) Tell Uncle to stuff it and keep grinding away each day, just to afford your pedal habit
2) Take him up on his offer and turn your back on many of your colorful die-cast little friends
3) Whine about wasting 2 minutes reading this frivolous post
4) Have a great weekend

Extra points if you list the amps and guitars you bring along
(No need to list your family members. They are one offs, we can't purchase one of them).:p

I'll vote later, but I will start with some amps and at least one guitar.

HiWatt Dr-103 Full Stack (Hey the island is deserted)
'59 Bassman
'65 Super Reverb

For guitar - AVRI '52 with a pretty fret dress.

Line 6 DL4. Period. Got your slap back echo and a looper so you never get bored. If you do get bored, you can mess around with all the echoes and delays. Screw the rest of the pedals. Wait...does Line 6 make a compressor? Do they make other stuff? lol

Amps - My old National Glenwood 90, Fender tweed Princeton, and an old Marshall

Guitars - Tele (52 avri), Gretsch Monkees guitar, Les Paul

That ought to do it...do I have to bring the wife?

I just look down at my little board, and it's still mostly Boss (maybe 20 years now...) I switch around dirt pedals a lot from other makers, but the boring, predictable, but reliable (and affordable) Boss pedals aren't going anywhere!

Desert Island = Tiki Surf Music

"Well ArtDecade, I have been following you around on the TDPRI for a while and now and and I see you have been infected with EPG, Endless Pedal Gas. I am going to help you save you from yourself. Alright, Unc... Hear me out...
Other: Fender

Three Effects
Fender Reverb Tank - The best there is
Fender PT 100 Tuner Pedal - Gets the job done
Fender Competition Delay Pedal - Looks cool and sounds adequate

Amps
Fender Showman or Bandmaster

Guitars
Fender Strat
Fender Jaguar

If I was told that I could only play one company forever, it would have to be Fender. The amps are classic. The guitars are inspiring. The tanks are splashy. But - the effects pedals aren't the greatest. Still, I could make due with a tuner and delay. Although, if I didn't have to take a tuner, I would just grab a Fender Blender and irritate the nearby islands. Need some dirt? I'll crank those amps wide open. Heck, I'm on an island! Deal with it!

 A Rat would be great, but I only use those when I can't push my amps into the farthest reaches of the volume knob.

I would go with Boss, because I could not get along without the LS-2, a looper and a Drum machine.

Hey, if I'm on a deserted island, I have to be a one man band, right?

Martin ... because there's no electricity on a desert island.

*Barber
(Fulltone and Xotic would be a close 2nd and 3rd)

Barber. I'd take the compact compressor and the gain changer. The only thing I would need is a tuner for alt tunings but I would be happy playing in standard. Rig is my highway one with budz pickups and saddles and a tweed fender bassman.

Easiest question ever. Wampler. Game over. With their trem due to be released soon, all I'd be missing is a phaser or a univibe but I bet I could make a nirvana work with enough fiddling.

As far as guitars and amps go, did this crazy uncle give us a budget to buy new ones or are we picking from our existing herd? And how much $ did he give us?

4MS, because I'm thinking one would never tire of exploring all the different settings on their eccentric and knob-heavy offerings

BYOA...
He's not my uncle. All things considered, I would hit him up for an amp or two.

Would have to be Wampler. They every thing I need as far as drive pedals go, phenomenal compressor, a great chorus, all my delay needs are covered. Only thing missing is tremolo, but that's what my amps are for, 2 blackface Fenders, and a Dr. Z Stangray(no tremolo on that one).

Guitars, Early 60's Strat, Hot Rod 52 Tele and a SG.

P.S. but man I wish I could also have my MHP 72°.

I think its funny that people are taking drive pedals... just crank the darn amps up. There is no need for dirt when you can take the ideal amps with you.

What about clean sounds, rolling off the guitar volume isn't the same as a high headroom amp offering pristine cleans. For me, with a small blackface, a twin and a Stangray, plus all of Wampler's dirt,I can get a multitude of sounds.
