Hi.

I need a little help about Orange Micro terror in combination with Orange 1x8 cab that's on sale on eBay. I know this amp may not be the most suitable, but I'm interested in it.
Does the amp produce good clean and low gain? Is it noisy? How much clean headroom does it have? Is it reliable?

Does anyone use it for country, blues, rockabilly..?

I can't test it before buying it.

Thanks, Urban

The amp is not especially noisy, but in stock form, is a fairly high gain amp. Not much clean headroom. That's an easy enough fix. Just pull the 12AX7 and replace it with a lower gain tube. I use a 12AU7 in mine, which gives the amp a very "tweed" flavor.

I don't know about the cab. I use a 1x12 cab with mine. The youtube videos I've see of the Orange cab aren't very impressive.

Absolutely. The last gig I played was about a 70/30 split Country to Classic Rock and our lead player used his Micro-terror and got great cleans. So much, though, depends on the cab. He was using a 4-12 Crate slant.

Me i got that amp whit 2 ppc-108(8'' cabinets) and i use the head stock(same tube). My setting on the amp is 9 o'clock for the vol, the tone around 11 to 1 o'clock and the gain at 3 o'clock. My trick is that i use the vol of the guitar, more vol more gain less vol more clean. If you whant more clean head room ad some vol on the amp. Of course you can still change the tube and it will change the gain structure but me i like the way it sounded stock. Cocoboudin

I made the same change concerning tube, it reduced the gain a little bit. Also, try a larger speaker. SOmetimes I use 15" Eminence Delta 15A, basically a PA speaker, for bigger headroom and mellow sound, compared to Ragin' Cajun, let's say...
Otherwise, ProTone is very correct in appreciation, I think the same. Except that I find it a little too noise for my taste... (compared with SCX2 or Ibanez TSA5...)
