If you got the budget, there are lot of luthiers who will build you your dream Tele. With regards to mass produced instruments, I would say G&L or Tokai.

New or used? High-end, low-end or something in the middle? Depending on these criteria, I'd suggest ESP (400-series) and Tokai from personal experience; also G&L and the Peavey Generation models. Trevor Wilkinson's Fret-King range looks interesting - don't know whether they're available where you are. Then there's Yamaha's Pacifica Mike Stern model - I've never encountered a bad Yamaha instrument of any kind. Some of the entry-level Far Eastern copies seem to offer pretty decent value, but you can get a Squier CV for not much more; these are well-known to be the very finest Telecasters in the entire history of the known universe - at least I'm sure I've read that somewhere... ;)

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you simply want something that looks and feels like a Fender Tele, then just about anything will do. You can take your pick. BUT...

If you want something that SOUNDS like a Fender Tele, and is able to be easily modified, then you'll just have to get a Fender Tele...

That said, I briefly owned a G&L Tribute ASAT Special Premium. Very nice guitar with some awesome MFD pickups and some great vibes, but not very customizable and not well supported. G&L is a niche market and that niche is very small.

Almost pulled the trigger on a Larrivee Bakersfield this past summer. Awesome Tele. Custom Shop quality for around the same price as the previous generation Fender AV '52.

How much to Logans and Danocasters go fot?

You can get a custom built Logan in the range of $700-$1200ish. If you check out the website, logancustoms.com, there are some pre-made guitars that has prices along with them. There's also a part where you can specify what you want and it gives the prices of each individual add on. As I mentioned earlier, I'm thinking about having him make me one, and I calculated that it should be around $700-$750. This is without certain bells and whistles though, like a bigsby, or a thinline model. I don't have a tele yet, but I'm starting to understand why people end up owning like 6 of them.

I don't know much about Danocasters.
