If I recall correctly, the kids were so hungry they could've eaten at Arby's.

I went to a Thai restaurant a few weeks back and had a dish that not only tasted like burning ... it left like burning.

Sorry. Thought you meant this. ;)

Yep, I thought it was another Jefferson Airplane reference, too. Marty once told me that he hadn't heard CSN's version of the song when they recorded WS and when he did he kind of regretted doing it. I always liked the Airplane's version better.

I can believe that Marty had not heard CSN's version since both versions were recorded at about the same time. But did he say specifically why he regretted it?

I'm with you. I like CSN's version but the Airplane's is much better ... better fits the content of the song (especially Jorma's lead work ... some of the best stuff he ever played IMHO).

Have you ever heard Crosby's demo version and Stephen's demo version? Both very cool.

I thought it was weird that Marty hadn't heard it either. He thought the CSN version was so good there was no reason to cover it. I've heard some early Crosby demos, but never Stills'.

I used to be in a band that did kind of a mixture of the two versions. Two acoustic guitars, a bass and three voices. I miss singing with my friend Zacheriah (RIP).

If you're interested, it's on Stills' "Just Roll Tape:"
