Have you ever looked at the Epiphone forum? All it is is "I bought this Les Paul or Casino Today" and "What kind of pickup is this?"

Here in Telecasterland, it's a very rich community. Old ones, new ones, fake ones, fixing them, building them, two big random photo blogs (largely populated by extremely ordinary guitars), a forum for finishing, five amplifier areas, pickups, boxes, playing, lots and lots of stuff.

It's a big world here. Even for me, who actually prefers Epiphone's versions of the Esquire and the Telecaster, the bolt-on Junior and the Special. I mean you put a Junior and an Esquire side by side, it's the same thing. Just the Telecaster is a boy and the Junior is a girl.

EpiphoneTalk is a much newer site than TDPRI with far fewer members. Posts may center around those things you mention but we also have a ton of archival data on the history of the brand and pickup specs for various models.

The knowledge of a few members runs pretty deep so we're pretty good at helping members to identify different models from the past and where they were made. We get quite a few drop ins looking for information like that their guitars.

It's small forum but a very friendly well informed group of members and growing albeit slowly as Epi popularity grows. The brand still doesn't have the same kind of marketplace support that Fender and Gibson have and probably never will.

And to be honest I actually prefer the dark background and the way the text stands out more boldly. But that might also be something to investigate as far as creating a user choice for background color. White on black or black on white.

I refuse to look at any site that has a white text on black background format. I consider it to be reader abuse.

I work in Terminals all day so I prefer the black backgrounds. The bright light colored BG's hurt my eyes. It's too bright and if I'm working on a laptop it drains the battery faster when the bg is very bright or white.

I even make TDPRI pretty dark compared to the default...

I would imagine that, as this is not "The Squier Forum", but TDPRI.
Look at the material in the Squier owner's group only...
Then you'll have a more equivalent comparison.
If your observation holds true for that as well, I'll happily pipe down. 🙃

(No Squier -hate here as I own three of them.)

What, we’re being mean to Epiphone owners now…
We’re losing the plot, people - Epiphones are as cool as you like. When you’re on that desert island, you can be fussing with your Martin D-whatever in its humidity-controlled case, or you can be sitting enjoying the view, with your Epiphone EL-00 propped up against a tree 🙂

I'm a member over on EpiphoneTalk for some years now. Not a busy forum but there are quite a few knowledgeable folks over there. I also hit TGP, StratTalk, SquierTalk, TGP, Moe's Tavern, the Fender Forum, Rickresource, and Gretschtalk. Something worthwhile at all of these.
