Before I found my new ish Yamaha Storia II, one of the Transacoustics I was considering sported a clear pickguard. I didn't know that till I got fairly close inspecting the guitar.

Are you fans of them? Neither the Storia nor my old Alvarez have pickguards, and although my playing style isn't likely to hurt the guitars, I'm still considering adding pg's. The Alvarez has some faint scratches, but they were there when I bought it used.

Opinions please. I don't want to mar the top of the new Yamaha, but am I overthinking this?

I bought some self sticking clear guards/guard material off Amazon called "Kling On". NO ADHESIVE! Take it off any time you want. It says in place fine too.
It works perfectly and you cant see it! Cut to shape or buy precut shape.

Wow! That certainly sounds like a good option. Thank you very much.

My 1995 Webber OM has one. Can’t even tell it’s there.
