I saw the floor traveler says to sort for lightweight Ash. I had mine sorted too and it came out light as a feather. How much did yours end up weighing?

The shop where I bought mine from had a picture of the guitar on a scale that read 7 lbs & 3.5 oz. I haven't personally confirmed that, but it seems accurate to me.

Seven & a quarter pounds is about my ideal weight actually, I find it to be light but still well balanced. I had a thinline Tele that was just under 6 lbs and I did find it to be too light for my tastes with some neck-dive.

Ah, yeah. Neck dive can be annoying. Nothing a Bigsby can't take care of though!

Congrats! I got one myself just Friday from a local shop! I didn't know anything about '55 Teles other than I liked how it felt and sounded. Like you, I'm particular about butterscotch finishes and more often than not, I don't like the shades I see or the shade of the neck.
Maybe not the classic look of the very first Teles, but certainly the second classic as you put it.

I get what you mean about it being a centerpiece Tele with all the vintage specs (save the 9.5" radius and 6105 frets), but it totally looks the part and more playable for me than the rounder radius, and the 55/56 pickups sound fantastic. The U neck profile is close to the limit of what I can handle, but still quite manageable. I also tried a CS Tomatillo Tele with a 50's V neck and that was a little too much...

Anyway, from one '55 owner to another, Congrats and enjoy!

Congratulations on your new '55! I'd love to see photos of it if/when you post a NGD Thread.

Indeed, I still appreciate that mine/ours is quite a classic look in the Telecaster realm ... but it's a bit different than the near obligatory butterscotch blonde ones. So a classic, but perhaps one that is a bit of a 'sleeper'.

I hope you enjoy yours immensely!

My floor traveler. Minor differences, although I forgot to mention mine has a roasted neck, so a bit more removed from vintage, but looks great... I'll see about doing an NGD, but my photos, unlike yours, tend not to be too good...

Ah yes, indeed, seems the neck specs differ in a few spots. Very interesting!

I'm sure the roasted neck on your Tele contrasts beautifully with the body!

Congratulations !
Gorgious guitar ! 😍

But leaving in Canada and buying a american guitar in UK … you will have to ride a bicycle for 150 years to catch up on your carbon footprint 😜

Wow, this FCS is just about to celebrate its one year anniversary with me. As someone who loves to buy/sell/trade, this is quite a milestone. This Tele definitely remains my #1 and I'm confident I'll have it for the long haul.

Here's a more recent photo with my only other T-style, a K-Line with a P-90 (also a long-term keeper)...

I love whiteguards! I had a Danocaster just like the in the white/trans blonde. I had to sell it 3 years ago.
About a month ago, I got a new CS '55 whiteguard with a 2 tone sunburst with wide fade. I liked it because it was different. It has a nice, full neck that is really comfortable in my hand. The pickups are really low output at 5.71 bridge and 5.79 neck, so it is a bit brighter tele. I just put on a set of Rutter's brass compensated saddles to tame a little of the sizzle. I love the notched saddles he makes!
Beautiful whiteguards everyone!

Great looking Guitar It reminded me of one that I saw at the Austin Flea Market down by the Colorado River years ago. I tried to research it and didn't react quickly enough before someone snatched it up. Turns out I believe it the be a Fender Mary Kaye Telecaster from around 1955. I've regretted it ever since. Enjoy your prize.
