so I am thinking about getting a red 50's vintera tele-mostly because I really like the 50's vintera strat I have. Now I already own an American standard tele and a few homemade teles but you know I like them teles....

Hi! I'd say go for it!! :)
You know, I'm very biased... but I'm in love with my Vintera 50's Road Worn that I prefer vs the standard Vintera because it has a raw neck. I like the U neck...
Did you have a chance to try one?

I played a RW and did not dig it - the guitar was spot on in terms of quality but I prefer C necks over U necks - that's personal preference so unless you are a player who has no neck preference, I'd play one before buying. BTW I love my 2019 Purple RW Tele so I was expecting a similar feel and did not get it.

cool yeah I have not played one yet...I like pretty much all necks/radii so I don't really care as long as the action is reasonable....got a lead on a used one in the $600 range

I love the couple I've tried. My favorite ever Mexican tele and the closest thing I've tried to my much-loved AVRI 52, with a nifty poly red finish. If I were tele-less and with that budget to spend, the Vintera 50 would be my choice without hesitation.

Just one thing: I've heard lots of people complaining about QC issues… a faulty pot here, a slightly warped pick guard there. One Vintera 50 strat I tried – another great model – had a weird taper on the volume. I tend not to care too much for those things if the bones are good and the part to be replaced is cheap. The ones I tried were very good, and had great bones: neck, electronics, finish.

My first Tele was the Vintera 50s. I bought it because that U-shaped neck just felt so comfortable. 4 more teles later...

I don't own one - actually, all the Teles I own are partscasters. I hate the necks of 90% of all guitars (Teles and others) you see at stores, they are all too thin and spindly.
Last time I visited a music store they had a blue Roadworn Vintera 50s Tele there, and I picked it up on a whim - and, whoa: finally a non-custom shop production guitar with a man-sized neck! And it was roasted maple, with a really thin matte finish, too - very nice. If I didn't have a great 50s style Tele partscaster with an equally great neck (Warmoth Boatneck, roasted maple), I would have been seriously tempted to buy it!

I had a road worn and let it go. It will all come down to whether you like the neck. Although I could get around on that neck, I just prefer a slightly smaller profile. I also didn’t like was the pickups. I put Cavalier pickups in it and it really helped.

Not meaning to but I think I came very close to a 50's Vintera on my last build. I assembled an Esquire using a Fender MIM '51 U neck and a Fender MIM Fiesta Red body. I wasn't sure about the U neck at first but now that I've had it for a while, I like it a lot!

Oh, I also used a Cavalier Holy Grail pickup so it sound really good too.

I have a 50s Vintera Tele and I think it’s a fantastic guitar. The fat neck is really comfortable and frankly somewhat surprising at this price point. I bought it fully expecting to replace the PUPs but the stock ones are really nice actually. I think they nailed the Fiesta Red color on these, it sits somewhere between red, orange, and shell pink. Great value for sure.

I’m still waiting for the Vintera RW Jazzmaster! I can dream. I love my RW Deluxe(avatar) and would love a matching Strat.
