It's not too often you hear Blake Mills in a straight ahead blues setting so this version of Green Onions is a treat. Here is my transcription/lesson on a solo that completely floored me when I first heard it, it's so soulful and weird at the same time, 10/10 in my book! If you want to learn a trick to sound a bit like an organ, a REALLY weird tension building lick and some fantastic phrasing, this video is for you, hope you get something out of it.

Btw what do you think of his tone in this? I love it but I'm guessing it's really not for everybody..

Oh and a fun fact, if I'm not mistaken, that wonderful black guard tele is Jackson Brownes!

Hmm. So much talking with not much info. This happens with young teachers and lecturers. The facts are good, but there are a lot of asides that don't mean much to me. I wish these guys would cut to the chase and stay there.

Yeah...I don't have the patience to stick with it..not even an initial listen of the whole solo.

Thanks for the input, I'll try to stay more on point next time around!

That's fine, I mostly make these videos for people who are already familiar with the player and maybe even the video I'm transcribing. I don't have the whole performance play at the beginning because I don't want to be another "reaction"-type of video maker, there are PLENTY of those already, that's why I want to get into teaching fairly quickly. The original video is always linked in the description of my video for reference! Thanks for the input!
