After years with the P10R, I'm looking for something different. I don't hate the P10R, but it's just a little too much on the "spiky" side. I would like something a bit more balanced and full sounding. Ceramic or AlNiCo, either is OK with me.

Thanks, in advance.

Staying with Jensens, the MOD 10-50 and 10-70 are very good indeed. The 10-50 is probably the better balanced of the two, the 10-70 is a little bassy until it gets driven loud, then it evens up. One of the finest 1x10" cabs I've ever owned had a MOD 10-35 in it. Fantastic in a band context as it was a little bass light, so didn't sound like mush or compete with the bass player. Oddly enough, it made a superb low wattage speaker for bass practice too. Could sound a little thin on its own. Not spiky.
The Jensen Jet series are a small, but pleasant step up. I've only used the 12" though.
My current speakers are two 1x10" cabs fitted with Jensen MOD 10-50, a sort of 5f1/5f2a build in a large tweed cab with a Jet Falcon 12" ( Superb, and I can use it as a cab too ) and my Cub 10 with a MOD 10-70.
Budget, and is it for gigging?

Kinda leaving budget open, at this point. Yes, will be gigged. Also, if it matters, the Pro Junior in question is one of the anniversary "Woody" models, so not the typical cabinet.

p.s. Any experience with the 10-35?

I had a 10-35 in a moderately sized ( about the same as a Blues Jr ) cab. Best.1x10".Ever. It was clean, crisp and clear. It would cut through/float over in a band setting and just sound right without any fatigue, spikes, shrieks, farts, coughs or other nasties. On its own, it was good, but nothing special. Very easy on the ear, if a little bass light. Its clarity and low end roll-off are what made it so good when the bass, drums and vocals were added in. How much of that was cab related or the fact I always used an angled stand I couldn't say for certain.
A very good speaker in that cab

Everything but Metal, essentially.

I've used the EMI Ramrod in a Laney LC 15, also a 15 watt 1x10 combo. I used it for blues, blues rock, and classic rock styles. It was fairly aggressive, and very efficient, and I needed the volume as I was not using a mic on the amp.

I like the Celestion Greenback 10s a lot for the same styles, and used them in 2x10 cabs with a Trinity 18 (Marshall 18 clone). Fantastic, a very classic sound. I did prefer it over the Ramrod, but in a single speaker amp, with no mic, the Ramrod worked better, and it still sounded good.

Again, it was an aggressive speaker, which worked well for me. Maybe not everyone? The Greenback 10 was more laid back, although still a rock and blues rock speaker.

I love the Ragin Cajun in mine. I have it all in a bigger pine cabinet I built several years ago. It's loud, but I've turned down several people who wanted to buy it from me - the whole amp/cab/speaker package. And I've taken the back off more than one to prove it was a stock Pro Jr inside. A 1058 sounds great as well. I'd say more vintage toned with the 1058, more modern punch with the Cajun. Also, that speaker with a 12ay7 in V1 can get some crazy good clean tones with a Pro Jr. That combination with my Blues Driver & Les Paul was actually maybe the best overdrive tone I've ever gotten, it just needs a little room to breath. With that being said, comparing the output of your Jensen to a Ragin Cajun is equivalent to running your Jensen through a 50W amp...it's going to be a LOT louder. For those interested or in disbelief, here is a handy SPL calculator that checks out with my dB meter every time I've compared them. https://myhometheater.homestead.com/splcalculator.html

Here is mine in my 16x18 pine cab, but if you have a Woody edition, we'll actually being comparing closer tones than if you'd had a stock model. I am 95% sure I recorded this with a 12ay7 in V1 because I remember I left volume & tone both on 6, and there's no way a 12ax7 would have been this clean at 6 on the dial. But, anyway, my Pro Jr with a Ragin Cajun and bigger pine cab with 3/8" baltic birch baffle, Nashville Telecaster.

Eminence Legend 1058.

I have no idea if this is a good fit for a Pro Jr.,

but in my Frontman 25R, it is warm, tonally balanced, sounds great clean or dirty, and was affordable.
(Do trio gigs with this amp, don't need a big amp/ lot of volume)

I can only think this would sound good in the PJ too

* I'm always buying moderate/budget gear & accessories, and have had good results with Eminence and Jensen Mod speakers.

10" Jensen Tornado sound very good with all fender amps I have built and because it is detailed it is excellent when pedals are used. But if voice sourse is poor it comes thru more than most other loudspeakers. Other Neodyms seem to have same feature as well.

My favorite 10" is Jensen P10R-F. I love its vintage sound and obviously because of it it is my most forgiving loudspeaker for playing mistakes. P10R-F sensitivity is very low only 92,5db and cranked max amp power is about 15W so only one is enough for quite low volume use but because it colors sound lovely already very low volume understanding it can be turned its strength.

Celestion Gold 10" is excellent for loud rock and blues.
