I know this is a subjective question. What’s everybody’s opinion on an early 50s p ( single coil) custom shop bass? I sway back and forth on this. Is it worth the price tag?
Brighter is lower - best balance is 6.4k the boosted sound is the 6.7k _ I am not a VENDOR here so I cannot post this on your thread - but looked like you needed the secret KEY LOL ( Google Video Search ) and the correct spellings of pickup model names ok Cheers DM

Thank you, Don. I was looking on YouTube and having trouble finding things. I’ll check out Google videos. I appreciate the tip, sir.
Most of my relatives are still in the Midwest. I was born in Minnesota. Some in Norway of course and my dad's mom was Swedish. I have a cousin there I keep in touch with. His son is the drummer for Royal Republic who seem to be fairly big European rock band.
Telenator: I don't mean to pry, but where in VT? I've been spending a lot of time up there, in the SW corner of the state, between Arlington and the NY border.

Being a newbie, I know little of the music scene, or even studios where people convene.

Bennington. The music scene in Southern Vermont is really bleak. It's a bunch of trainwreck engineers who don't know how to play in tune or in time. Any kind hearted efforts to help with that were met with push-back and disdain. Try to find Sam Clement. He's among the very few good players I know there.

I will look out for Sam C. Had hoped for better up there, but it does not seem promising. More action - mostly not interesting - in Albany. Even in Western Mass. Thanks for getting back to me.

There used to be a good open mic at The Bounty Fare in North Adams MA. The owner plays and songs and a few of the attendees are decent players. Other than that, Western Mass is bleak until you get down to Pittsfield. Vermont is drab until you get up to Burlington. Seriously. I all but list my chops up there over the past 6 years.

I'm currently 67 years, took TV and Radio repair in 1980, went into PC support and never used this knowledge. When I retired I decided to again take up amp repair and mods.I am trying to achieve a working knowledge of this by referring to forums like this and the many YouTube channels that cover the subject. I was able to land a part time job at a backline company where I can gain experience maintaining their amps.
John hope youre still on here....I'm in the same boat you were several years ago, looking for a schematic for my Tlac Thinline. Did you ever find one and, if so, could you head me in that direction. Mine looks exactly as the one you pictured.

mine was completely stripped. I ended up using a schatten preamp and setup as recommended by mojotone
Just wanted to check on the weight of this beauty.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I'd say 8 pounds. It's already packed and I didn't think to weigh it.
Hello! Do you know if clockwise north up is stock for the Fat Lion King? I'll take the pickup. One deal here recently but been on The Gear Page for like 20 years with the same name.

Thanks!

Best,

Hi Shane,

I believe that clockwise south is actually stock. Clockwise north will allow the pickup to be RWRP with Seymour Duncan and other pickups. The polarity can be reversed to south using a strong magnet.

Hi Alex, I'm new here. Would like to post a guitar for sale but can't find a way to create a post on this site. Can you please assist? Cheers, Bruce
