I always thought "Farm Fiddlin" was the coolest thing that he had done. He did it because he was really into Gatton , as well as The Hellacasters. I think he originally had some country, or southern rock aspirations.
That intro is impressive! I don't think I've heard that song. I never realised he was a Gatton fan.
I did own Zakk's Pride & Glory CD at some point. That was his only southern rock venture I'm aware of.
He did one other that had a lot of acoustic stuff called "Book of Shadows". I don't think it broke any new ground, but it was very listenable.
I remember Zakk when we worked on his guitar in the late 80s/early 90s. It weren't no Telecaster...
I loved Pride & Glory and wish he’d resurrect that outfit.
