We went to DC one year for vacation. My enforcement of Ultra light packing was the closest we ever came to divorce. I traveled for work over a decade and bring very little. 1510 pelican and backpack and I'm good for a couple weeks.

My wife and I have separate bathrooms. It’s brought us a lot of peace

As much as we've been together 31+ years, two houses have seemed like a good idea. The completely different and independent things we'll do no doubt help.

This is true. Closing the lid before flushing does prevent germ splatter delivery. I do this.

(But, to be helpful to the next guy who may need a standing approach for his usage, I put lid and seat both back up.)

The future Mrs. Obsessed lived in the city at the time.
The deck of our house is about five feet off the ground, so no need for a seat. Although, now that I finally got the railing up, more technique is involved.;):D

Now I've been reminded of my wife saying she refuses to go into and/or fix up the bathroom the kids use until they're out of he house for good.

With their sister home for a few weeks I had to. My my 3 smart and otherwise fine young adults can sure.... Oh, never mind I remembered yours truly at those ages.

Yup. This. I had older sisters. I now can't stand it when people leave the seat up.

Incidentally, a friend of mine recently dropped something in his toilet while shaving. Quite a bit of work to get it out. Lesson learned.

This is why my toilet and sink are in different rooms. Who thought it was a good idea to put them in the same room?

I was thinking the same thing, there is actually a door to the water closet in our bathroom that can be closed and you feel like a bird in a cow pie, why you might even start whistling.

Worse are people not washing their hands after using the toilet. I see it in public restrooms more often than not.

Yup, don't touch that door handle.

I saw a guy at a Costco restroom come running out of a stall shouting I didn't do that! Whether he did or not, I can't say, but he had it all over him! The evidence, well it was pretty strong that he did do that. I quickly exited the place, I don't know what happened there, nor do I want to know. If I had to guess, I'd say that the guy had swallowed a five gallon tank of LP gas, and he tried to light a cigarette.
