Does anyone know of a YT clip cutter that actually works. I've tried numerous Chrome extensions and online YT clip cutters and I can't get anything to work. To be clear what I'm looking for is a free program that will cut a clip out of an existing video on YT. I'm not looking for a video editor for posting my own vids to YT.

    Thanks.

I don't see in it's description any feature that will let me edit a short clip out of a video. Will it do that do you know?

I’m assuming you tried YT Cutter? It says it can do that, but I have not tried it out myself.

Yes, I've tried that one. I can't recall specifically why it didn't work because I've tried a bunch of them.

I don't know what operation system you use but "Video Downloader" for Linux is free and great for downloading entire YT videos, plus it will make MP3 files. It's pretty basic, I don't think it lets you download just parts of a video, it's all or nothing.

You could also try something like taking a screen capture video recording and just select the area you want to record on your desktop/in your browser etc. Just make sure your audio record settings are "mapped" output correctly. Mac and PC vary on how to do it.

    I've used "Debut Video Capture."

Not for spreading licensed material of course, I would never stoop so low.

I'm able to record a YT vid but it's a screen capture type of recording rather than just the video. I'll have to play with this a bit and see if I can get it to do what I want. Thanks.

you may need a two part solution similar to what I use to rip the audio from YouTube videos and process it for playback. Media Human has a YouTube video downloader that lets you download and save YouTube videos. The YouTube downloader is freeware.

NCH Software has inexpensive and very intuitive editing software. The cost is nominal, $40.

I personally use the MediaHuman YouTube to MP3 converter and NCH WavePad Audio editor. I hope this is helpful.

I've used a two step method as recommended by someone and got what I wanted done. Thanks!
