 I ordered a pair of seahorses. They had a bunch of babies before the lot of them died.

I sold enough greeting cards to earn a tethered airplane, with a gas engine. My Uncle Jack "tried it out" before I got a chance to fly it; it did not survive the trial.

I also had one of those "throw your voice" gizmos, with the piece of cellophane in a bracket on a naugahyde patch.

    Oh, and a whoopee cushion.

You're getting old AND you're from the DC Metro area if you remember this gem:

PLUS, special bonus points if you know the musician WITHOUT looking it up.

There was an early episode of Mad Men, where Don or Betty trip over one of these long gyro gizmos, that their kids have left on the stairs. Just seeing it made me gasp, and it brought on a flood of memories. Funny how that works.

Remember going to sleep at night with one of these in my ear. Probably why I know all the lyrics to late 50's songs.

Shoes with leather soles and the aftermarket rubber soles you could buy to glue onto them.

Lol.Those stirred up old memories for me..Om my 6th birthday Mom gave me a pair after much begging..All the other kids in the hood had them..
I sat on the front steps and fastened them on..Got up and fell on my ass..Tried it a few more times with the same results..
Took 'em off, tore the wheels off and nailed them to a 4X4 with another board for a handle, Had the best damn scooter in the hood..lol.

All Peavey back lines.. on tour.

"I will throw in the amp.." and the "amp" was a small tube Fender.

Chipboard cases as a factory option w/ name brand guitars..

Having one guitar, maybe two if you kept your "beater" acoustic.

Having one amp..the size of a small fridge.

Having one amp.. that couldn't be heard over a three piece MIJ drum kit.

The kid w/ good gear that was "too cool for school" but brought his guitar to school every day and noodled sans amp...never joined a band.

I fell for the "spy camera" I found it when I was in H.S. and had access to a dark room, it actually worked, although there was a good bit of light leakage. The LOMO crowd probably pays big bucks for these now.
