I got a Rat this year too, but struggling to bond with it through my Bandit 65. Too harsh on high gain, and my Bad Monkey sounds better for low gain. Lots of hum and buzz when not playing. I like it, but don't love it yet.

This was a crazy pedal acquisition year, but these are the standouts with the Silverface VR:

AnalogMan POT - Very happy, sweet midrange, still exploring this pedal's flavors
Bearfoot Model H - also very happy, nice bottom end, and detailed treble control
Sarno Earth Drive - Great after other ODs, also just clicks with my Tele by itself

Also: Beano Boost with the TopHat Club Royale. Crushing.

Another Rat here. Whiteface Reissue (LM308 chip). Best dirt box I own. Like all Rats, it is capable of light crunch to full-on mayhem (which I never use.)

Incidentally, the big websites have been sold out of these for months. A couple of Ebay sellers had them but they are now gone. Amazon still has a few but they are up to $170 from the $110 I paid. This is why I bought two. :D

Better than a chinese made Rat II? Who knows. But it oozes mojo IMO.

Lovepedal Hi Power Tweed Twin. Can't stop using it. Well, sometimes I unplug it... but only to compare it to my Fulltone 2, which I also really love using.

Jeez, this was a pretty great NPD year. Highlights would have to be:

Catalinbread SFT - love the eq
Blackstone Appliances Mosfet Overdrive - Brown Channel is always on
Hardwire Supernatural Reverb - Can tell it's digital, but high quality digital!
MJM Phantom Overdrive - never knew how much I needed a quality TS.

Still bonding with a Wampler Pinnacle - doesn't seem to do what I like as well as my Box of Rock, so I may end up moving it on... same with the Hot Wired. Strange.

    Needs for 2014:

    1. better Wah - don't really like the Dunlop Hendrix Model I have. Attenuates the highs too much.

Analogman Boss BD-2. Am completely in love with this pedal, picked it up for $90 a couple of months ago.

I think it's better. Got the Rat 2 and WFR at the same time. At first I thought they were the same, but after a lot of AB'ing determined the WFR was smoother. It's also much better built. Returned the Rat 2 to GC. I also got the WFR from Amazon, but paid $127 about four weeks ago.

Kind of settled into my pedal rotation, but I did pick up a Klon clone from this company and love it. https://www.facebook.com/NatickElectricalApparatus So far my favorite practice combination this year has been a Tele through a SFPR or non-verb, the Klone and a Holy Grail.

Not even in question. I flipped a lot of pedals, but the most valuable and shockingly good pedal I've ever owned or used is the Bogner Ecstacy Blue. I use it more and rely on it more than any pedal I've had.

Liked it so much I added the Ecstacy Red to my board as well. Honorable mention goes to the Red (also excellent), the VS-XO I've recently got, and the Strymon Blue Sky reverb.

For me it's a toss up between my Strymon Flint or my Rockbox Boiling Point.

I'm quite enjoying my Mad Professor Golden Cello. I also picked up a second Timmy for a small board...but I already loved my first Timmy. You never forget your first Timmy. Derp...

Even though I don't take advantage of 80% of its capabilities, I really like my Flashback 4x.... Plus I got it with free credit card points from work travel. If we are including multi fx, I picked up a used POD HD300 that has really blown me away & made me re-think my opinion of Line6. I also picked up a Boss EQ I wasn't sure I really need but now I'm so glad it's there, especially for breathing life into darker sounding neck pups. In fact I recommend trying out an EQ pedal prior to spending $ to replace any pup you aren't super happy with.

Hardwire supernatural was my best purchase this year. Love the plate and shimmer settings. Its the kind of pedal that forces you to play different and I like that. Still getting to know it but I can already tell its found a place on my pedalboard
