Really just the common generic colors- BSB Teles, Sunburst Strats, cherry SG's, red-to-yellow burst Les Pauls. Odd colors are good, just not when every band you see has the exact same guitar.

I'm not a fan of burst either, even though I own one. Hey, I got a great deal and couldn't say no.
New CV 50s Strat for $220!

Anyway, I can live with that color, but canary yellow? No way!

I really don't like the highly figured woods with that kind of "miles deep" glossy finish on it, but that's just me.

I don't like most green finishes. Don't care for most blues other than light blue. I also think dark redbursts look really cheap. I really like tobacco burst, butterscotch, amber, and most finishes in that brownish family. I like candy apple red and dakota red. Black...suits my personality!

Antigua. Any really blue blue,( pastel is ok) and also purple. Double yuck if they are bursts. Green Bursts. I like Sherwood and Cadillac green. Pepto Bismol pink or bright pink, again needs to be a pastel. I like most reds, tho the closest to a red I own is a "walnut" Gretsch.
Don't care for most metallics, but I do like Candy Cola. BSB or TV yellow is fine, but no school bus or yellow raincoat yellow. I like most traditional bursts, brown or sunbursts, if done well.
Black is a good safe color, but its kinda boring. I'm currently doing a rat rod Esquire in flat black tho. Most shades of white can be good to.

Those metallic spangly sparkly ones, especially in Christmas Tinsel Silver or whatever it is.

Not a huge fan of bursts either, though my first Tele is one and I'll always have it; don't have anymore.

I agree. I hate black guitars. Except my Tele is black. What can I say...? Really good deal second hand.

I put on a white pearl pickguard when the origional one cracked. Now I love my black Tele...

Not crazy about plain old red generally, especially on Strats and Teles.

Surprised to see so much dislike of black... I'm usually ok with black guitars. I especially like black Teles. And a black Strat ala Buddy Holly is really classic looking to me.

As for sunbursts... they're not all created equally to me. Some look really cheap, where it's a very distinct bright yellow and then dark red--the 'transition' is not good.

But I've owned a couple of 'burst LPs and I thought they were beautiful.

Paisley. I've hated paisley since I was a little kid. Refused to wear paisley pajamas even.

Always looked like something from our fifth-grade, sex-education movie. Where they show the microscopic view of where babies come from.

This is pretty much it for me.

I think guitars have certain personalities and a color that looks great on a tele might be only ok on a strat and then look just awful on a les paul. Well, you get the idea.

Same here as the post above... I grew up during the '80's and hated all the bright pink Charvels. I wouldn't own an Ibanez shredder if you paid me. Fugly. Fugly. Fugly.

Personally, I can't stand weird shaped ones. Makes Guitarists just seem stoopid, despite their ability. Each to their own, but Ron Thal seems to be my polar opposite! He's probably a great rock guitarist but man, those guitars truly blow chunks... Lol.

Also, anything neon (not even just guitars, also clothes, shoes, etc.) is just annoying and painful to look at. A big +1 on the skulls spiders or snakes and crap like that.

Now you know you have to wear them when you're aunt comes to visit, and that's final.
