What state of gigging are you in. Enjoy learning who is doing what-and watching bands progress and the gear and show related stories that go with gigging musicians.

Not currently gigging. My last band disintegrated this past spring and I have not found a new enterprise yet. If anyone is looking for a Tele-toting rock and roll playing guitarist in the Pittsburgh, PA area, let me know!

I’m all of the above, except “don’t gig”.
    I love it.
    It’s fun.
    It’s semi-profitable.
    I’m addicted.

My band does originals and lesser known covers for pay. That's not on your poll..

At 66 I am in my golden years of gigging. Lots of full electric and acoustic duo gigs, more than my earlier years. (Paid gigs BTW).

Your poll selections are mutually exclusive. That will preclude many responses or accurate results. Like @brookdalebill all of the above fit me except the last one. Unlike @brookdalebill, unfortunately, this is not semi-profitable for me.

Gigging cover band getting paid. Originals are a part of our band. Last weekend we went into a local studio and recorded the first song of our first original album.

Came to realize just in the past week or so that I'm effectively retired. Haven't managed to gain any traction in my new market (Charlotte, NC area), and it's at least in part because I'm just not trying very hard.

understood, was trying to get feel for where we all are at gigging wise. I really like to learn from those who end up figuring out how to get their guitars from home to the stage. People really don't know how much time and work goes into it. But for the love of playing music it's all worth it !!

I'm all of the above except "don't gig." And while I get paid, I'm far from turning a profit. I spend 20 cents of every dime of music income on music gear. Good thing I have a day job.

Simple, just get out of the house and start playing. IME, Open Mics and Busking are 2 of the simplest ways...
You'll get notice, meet folks & others musos, network, get gigs, etc.... it ain't rocket science ;)

I am semi-retired - I am down to about 12 Bar type gigs per year and typically 3 to four private events per year. I've kept in the same band, so I guess it's still profitable; we just play a lot less. It's been 12 years since original music and recording was part of my poll criteria - but it was fun!

Nightly, non paying solo gig on lower back deck. Audience consists mostly of squirrels, neighborhood cat and rascally raccoon that perches in the crotch of my oak tree...passed out from overindulgence in eating all the food out of the aforementioned neighborhood cat's bowl.

They don't tip good but I've only been heckled a handful of times. Fairly laid back crowd. Things really get juicy if I stay awake for a second martini...

Gigging cover band, mostly blues. I’ve done things involving several of your other choices over the decades including a couple of albums and EPs.

At 65, it’s all just for fun and it’s as much fun as it’s ever been.

I play about two gigs a month, mostly covers but occasionally we get an original-music gig. I don't want to play more than that because it then becomes "work." Also, I'm 63 so I like to have weekends off--it's getting a little harder to schlep the equipment around every year, and play late-night gigs.
