There's a million good ones.

A few electronic driven guys like Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, Squarepusher, etc. Bartok had a lot of what I'd call little "riffs" in some of his small string ensembles. Lots of 90's rap tunes with that glissando'd moog thing going on or piano stabs along with some of those 80's synth pops hits. Duke Ellington, Mingus...oof.
