You changed the neck — So, is it still the same guitar?

You’re just hitting on a bunch of other threads tonight! ;) :D

It’s hard to say which is my favorite, but the 3 in bold fonts get the most action.

I commented about this guitar on another thread and the way I see it, in 1997 I was attracted specifically to this Strat, as it was cheap ( duh, Tex-Mex model), very comfy, lively funky feel, lightweight, and great pickups.

The guitar has had many parts changed
Including pickups, but none of those qualities are lost. It's just a fantastic player!

The new neck ( and heavier tuners impart more acoustic sustain and vibration, which I can feel.
Aldo new frets ( without dents and flat spots, sharp edges), imparts much clearer tone/sustain than old, worn frets

Though I had no buzzing issues, I could feel fretting out when bending, less sustain... so all good, still!

I build all my own, and am up to 8 now, with many more to come. :p

These three are my current go to’s. I love the P90’s sounds on the Strat and the warmth and feel of the rosewood board. The action is pretty good cos I like it low. But if I really want the best feeling and playing neck, the Redwood Tele is tops! And it has typical Tele tones, definitely a winner! The only downfall is my control placement gets in the way of my picking hand. I play finger style and that volume control is very annoying - hence the reason the knob is of atm. I’m gonna look into the idea of taking it out completely and just going straight volume on the bottom, or maybe use a push pull for v & t.

The Route 66 is my latest creation, and includes the second neck I’ve built. She’s a nice fat chunky thing - a real baseball bat! - and I’ve grown to like it very much. Never thought I would cos I really like nice thin necks. Funnily enough, this guitar is getting a LOT of attention atm. Probably cos I like its simplicity. I have plans for a proper Esquire wired Tele coming soon.

And here’s a couple more projects on the go. You’ll notice a bass build tucked in behind that hockey stick hs. I think I’ve got a major sickness! :D

Of all the ones that I own, it would have to be my avatar Telecaster, “Big Tex”...

But I don’t want to ignore the ‘72-reissue Fender Telecaster Deluxe or the Fiesta Red Fender ‘62-reissue Stratocaster or the Epiphone ‘57-reissue Les Paul Junior or...

This beast that I recently modded has put a smile on my face, it a 2002 fat American telecaster That now has Wolfetone dr.vintage neck and Wolfetone tele ***** in the bridge position, I also replaced the bridge assembly with a Kluson hybrid made to fit American standard three hole mount, just a killer guitar 92297FDD-90C7-4597-910B-00667D33F6B3.jpeg

Currently it’s my 2005 Gordon Smith GS-1 and my Jazzmaster classic 60's lacquer.

My Tele barely gets a look in now, though I’m considering re-stringing for open C as I restrung one of my acoustics to there recently and I’m enjoying the sounds from that tuning....

Teles and Les Paul Jr types are my favorites.

I do like semi-hollows a bit and Jazzmasters occasionally, but mostly it's turtles all the way down. Teles and LPJs.

I have had dozens of fine electric and acoustic guitars - Fenders, Gibsons, Martins, Taylors, vintage and new. And after weeks, months or years, I found something wrong with all of them. So they came, and so they went, one at a time, since 1969.

This is because I am an idiot.
