I have a few “pets”.
I play the first four bars of Vince Guaraldi’s Christmas Time Is Here.
I also play the I Dream of Jeannie theme.
Perhaps odd, perhaps (definitely?) old.
It’s stuff I loved as a child.
When I was a kid, my Mom would ask me to play something.
I would dutifully play the latest rock lick I’d taught myself.
Richie Blackmore, Billy Gibbons, Andy Powell, and Dickey Betts were my big heroes.
When I got older, I realized she was probably hoping for something more, uh, musically complete.
Later, when I was about 30, after my Mom passed, I took lessons from Clay Moore (great teacher!) and made a point to study chord melodies.
I could play her all kinds of stuff she’d like, now.
If only.

P.S. Medium shell pasta, Italian sausage, garlic and onion Marinara, tart, not sweet.

Always been:

Elvis - "Mystery Train"
Eddie Cochran - "Summertime Blues"

I swear, every single time I pick up a guitar I play those two songs. I'm not kidding. Every time I pick up my guitar my hands start playing those two songs.

And, yeah, I'd kill to get an Eddie Cochran signature Gretsch 6120. I went for the Billy Duffy Gretsch White Falcon. Love it, but Duffy's Gretsch is not as iconic as Eddie's Gretsch.
