While I'm on a Collections Kick...the lower register should be explored.

I have none of the iconic basses, so quit looking for the P or Jazz in the background....you'll just be disappointed. Mine are just there for different sounds, and in some cases their playability drew me like a moth.

There's a Teisco in the foreground...are you surprised?

I just have one, an AmStd PBass in vintage white that I bought new in '97. Totally stock. Some day I wouldn't mind a Ric 4003 though!

I'm a guitarist so I didn't go crazy on expensive basses. These two guys are great and give me two very different sounds:

    Fender Jazz Bass - MIM
    Hofner Icon Beatle Bass

Shamelessly copy/pasted from the bass place thread

Aluminum necked Kramer picked up at a Goodwill for $100
Since been cleaned of the stickers and rewired repolished the hardware and neck and put some proper speed knobs on it.
Started off as a no name plywood Jazz Bass body mated it to a mighty mite fretless neck.
    Dubbed it the JazzBanana.
SAGA P-Bass kit finished in large silver sparkle
    [IMG]
BC Rich Warlock, got it as a basket case body and neck.
Refinished in ReRanch Seafoam green with pearl accents to offset the "metal".

nice '61 bingy! love the wood tone on that. the neck, and rosewood fretboard just looks like it is a joy to play with that perfect tone. very cool!
