I’d quite like:

A 70s P Bass
An early 70s SG
A 335
A 70s Tele Custom
A mid 60s Mustang
An HSS Strat of some sort
An LP Special with P90s

At some point, maybe... Not all or all at once. Pretty happy with what I’ve got.

With 55+/- guitars/basses in my home studio, I'm pretty covered with about any style guitar I could want.

Of course I don't have a Gibson _____, Fender _____, Rickenbacker _____, Gretsch_____, Etc...................,but I haven't pursued these other guitars because I don't need them.

Don't bet me wrong, if I run into a CRAZY deal on a guitar I don't already have in my collection, I'd pick it up without hesitation.

Mine is a very short list.

And I just checked one off that list yesterday.
(The Yamaha Revstar 502T)

The others?

I had started a lengthy list of beautiful instruments, but then I realised that each of them has a minor irk for me and I would be constantly bitching about something.....
I think my dream right now would be to have a guitar custom made for me:
- set neck with the shape and dimensions of my Ibanez Artcore AF75,
- 22 frets,
- archtop hollowbody, but slighty thinner than the Artcore,
- floating bridge,
- arched back (the years have left me.....rounder....),
- florentine cutaway,
- P90 in neck and Humbucker with single-coil-split in bridge position,
- one volume-control close to bridge, one tone-control, 3-way-toggleswitch and switch for single-coil-tap,
- either red or blue, probably blue right now.
Hmm, have to check my savings.....

I've been doing this for a while, I have what I think of as the bucket list and I'm gradually ticking things off.

Left on the list are a small body, A braced Gibson Nick Lucas acoustic, an early 60s ES345 and an early 60s Epiphone Sheraton. On the original list was a set of the four original 335 family guitars (still missing the 345), a Gibson Crest, a Byrdland, a yellow Gretsch Rally, Gibson L-1 and L-00, a Rickrnbacker 381 and a Guild 12 string - all those are ticked.

Once those are done I have a bunch of B list ones but those are the big ones.

If it's one guitar, make it happen! A little aside over a few years and it might be easier than you think.

L-1s user to be quite affordable - I went through several in the early 2000s and settled on a 1926 one that cost under $1k. They've gone up a lot but they're still relatively affordable for a Pre-war acoustic by such a big brand sand they're awesome guitars.
I like your way of thinking and I know you are correct. It took me two years just to find the reso of my dreams, so why not? Thanks.

I've long wanted a 335-style guitar but have yet to buy one.

I get tempted by Les Pauls every so often, but each time I tried one I put it back.

I thought my Hamer Artist "semi-solid" would fix both the LP and 335 itch, but I don't get along with it for some reason, which makes me think spending a lot more for a 335 or LP (or a Heritage version) may turn out the same way.

My Mira occasionally has me think about a more upscale PRS, but then I see the prices.

And I'd like a thinline Tele (or similar).

I’d like to find a Esquire in Sahara Taupe, with a black PG, rosewood fretboard and a cream pickup.

Or a Strat shaped one-pickup hardtail custom; same visuals.

We all have them, sometimes it’s places you want to see, cars you want to own, or in this case... Guitars you want to own.

I will put a loose restraint on this list- it has to be a guitar that you can feasibly acquire. There might be someone here who can afford Jimi’s Monterrey strat, but that’s not the point of this exercise.

I have too many as it is, (I often snap up cheap ones to tinker with) and that’s partially what’s stopping me from getting more. I could probably afford any one of them, but certainly not all.

- Thinline Telecaster, but with more traditional telecaster control plate (similar to a recent build here) and with a bigsby.

- Gibson les Paul (most likely a jr.) with P90s
- Eastwood Thunderbird (I’ll never be able to afford a real non-reverse firebird)
- (New MIA by Heritage) Harmony Silhouette
- Loar arch top with no cutaway, single neck pickup
- Dearmond X155
- MIJ fender thinline Jaguar
- Something with real Teisco gold foils
- Teisco May Queen
- Teisco Spectrum 5 (probably a reissue)
- Kay Speed Demon
- Vintage Danelectro or honest reissue
- a double neck 6/12 (uglier the better)

There might be more. Fortunately I have a few I like a lot and there are enough competing that it’s not “easy” to pick one to buy. I am going to sell off a few to acquire at least one of these soon however.

what about yours?
...two left, a Gretsch and a 335.
