A GREAT PLACE TO DRINK BEER!!!!

Funny, most of my WI bud's drink Busch Light "Silo's." (16 oz cans)

I asked them why and they said that they didn't know.

However, one said that Busch put on a big marketing blitz, years ago, and it just "stuck."

Personally, when I'm there (about once a year) I drink New Glarus' Spotted Cow.

An excellent brew!!

imo.

Sounds like la français version of what @El Marin plays.
I have not heard much about el marin's chocolate band except it was not really my thing. This is sort of canadian country with a quebec accent. Does @El Marin have a sort of a spanish accent ? I don't know enough about spanish accent to tell, but the french accent in this video is heavy. For a foreigner.

Not sure either, but I believe the groove was very similar to an example he shared here one time.

can I ask your age?
I'm in my mid 50s, and in my little town I grew up in, in central WI, we considered Leinies pretty much bottom of the barrel

I'm in my mid 70s. When I lived in Eau Claire in the late 60s-early 70s, Leinie's was popularly known as "squaw piss." They promoted it as being brewed from water from the Big Eddy Springs, and locals joked that Big Eddy was the name of the horse who pissed in the springs.

When I was in Wisconsin for a wedding I toured the plant and drank the Old Style with the other guys. When in Rome.... I haven't felt the need to seek it out since.

I'm a fan of their signs.
It's not the beer to try because you're in wisconsin, any more than miller. Sorry they didn't take you to a better brewery. There are a lot of them.

Hey we've got a Culver's in Longmont, Colorado. I hit it when I can and get a butterburger, cheese curds or a pot roast sandwich, when they have them.

Its all good, it was a fun day. I have long enjoyed the New Glarus offerings that @Twofingerlou mentions. Plus, they treated me to a La Crosse backyard cookout with bratwurst. That might have been the first time I ever ate brats, so I walked away a winner for that alone. And, I got to visit Dave's Guitar Shop. Aside from blowing out my knee playing basketball that afternoon. it was almost a perfect day. You can't beat Wisconsin people for making an out-of-towner feel welcome.

you are giving someone driving directions and you include the line, "Keep going until you see the brewery, and then..."

My wife is from Wisconsin... Our first New Year's together, she asked if we were going to celebrate with Cannibal Sandwiches. I thought she was kidding when she described it. Raw hamburger, onions on rye bread. To be fair, it seems to be a Polish Wisconsin thing, mostly wedding receptions and New years.

We always stock up on cheese curds when we visit her family and bring back plenty for family and friends.

No way I'd live in a state shaped like a broccoli.

I'll stay in Florida, thankyouverymuch.

The Spotted Cow secrets and mysteries....

It is not at extremes of hops or malt and has some thickness on the tongue so appeals to many or at least is not offensive. The limited availability is the simple matter of not pasteurized and not contract brewed in other places.

There was talk of Huber here. My first meeting of the New Glarus owners was of all things stopping in their new place on way back from Huber and another of my then employer's customers in Monroe. Their success has not been a surprise to me.

honestly i don't think I've ever seen spotted cow in a can before
They with some others are a retail challenge if not a cans only beer. Some loud or squeaky wheel customers ask for bottles. Cans are better for shelf life and environment. The latter in a few ways.
