I was amazed to learn that outside of the state, they really don't know cheese curds, say nothing of deep fried curds.
About the closest you'll find is mozerella sticks

I grew up in the Upper Midwest and love cheese curds. Lucky for me there are small pockets of devotees in Upstate NY and Vermont to whet my whistle.

I thought these maybe contradicting contradicting characteristics.

One is liberal amounts of butter, alcoholic beverages and knowing you start with breakfast to really say you "drank all day". The other took my own travel and age to realize but a map of the college/votech system is for the most part a map where anyone in the world could choose well for raising a family and okay life.

A third characteristic would be "I paid my taxes so this left lane is mine no matter how slow I drive.".

Didn't get enough snow to do it often, but when we did, we'd just hook up an old truck hood with a chain to a trailer hitch and drag each other around the streets.

Especially fun, if we could find a yard with a loose dog, that would chase.

My pal up there loves that "can't drink all day if you don't start first thing in the morning" thing. The night shift from Kohler's rolls into our fave dive in Sheboygan NLT 8a. I've been pretty well blind by about 9:30a off bloodies and Sambuca shots (hey it's got coffee beans).
