The Italia Rimini 12
Highly recommend the Danelectro 12 string.
I have the basic 12SDC and am very happy with it.
if I didn't already Have the epi dr12 those pics of dano would probably take me down the road to an electric 12
Peace - Deeve
I've never played a Ric copy that sounded anything like a real Ric. Hell, I've played real Rics that didn't sound like a Ric is supposed to. All the Rics I ever owned were purchased back when you could find them for less than a grand... no more.
I play a Danelectro 12 – sparkly blue – that plays and sounds great. Intonates better than a Ric, too. I did have my eyes on an Italia Rimini for awhile, but I couldn't scrape the cash together quickly enough. They're nice too.
You have my permission!
My experience with Thomann and their inexpensive Harley Benton guitars has been positive.
Agreed on the kidney. That is why they come in pair.
I say go for it. It looks like a great 12 string. Im also gassing for an Italia 12 string, they just came in to stock down here.....
I always dug those, never knew they did a 12 string version.
the color on that dano is extra sweet!
Thanks! Actually the colour is somewhat washed out in the photo because the flash was on. Here's a stock photo that's close to the true colour.
I'd be tempted to buy it, chop down the headstock, and have a new 6-string nut cut. That way, I could have a cheap Rick-copy with a fingerboard wide enough to actually play. It sure "looks" nice!
I had a reissue Danelectro 12 in glitter blue but couldn’t bond with it so I sold it. Now the Ibanez AS7312 is on my radar.
The reason you don't see them often is because Rickenbacker, unlike Fender and Gibson, was and has been diligent about maintaining copyrights and trademarks, additionally, they are also very diligent about protecting their intellectual property and going after counterfeiters or trademark violations.
Whats a dano cost 550.00 new?Crap now i want a 12 string again .
Looks nice and gets good reviews. Not expensive either. I've just succumbed to a Harley Benton LP Jr double cut, which is due Monday.
I've fancied something P90 for a while and thought I'd give it a go. I was helped by beagle here who gave me good info about the one he bought.
I snagged this one last fall on sale at one of the big online guitar sellers, don't recall which, Musician's Friend maybe? Anyway, new, for $299...with free shipping yet. Probably the best guitar deal I ever found.
The Dano could be the answer, my Surfcaster is the best sounding 12 string I have played. Including Rick 330/12, 620/12 Burns Double Six, a Yamaha 12 and Fender Electric 12. What it shares with the Dano is lipstick pickups, and the configuration of the octave strings in relation to the bass strings.
Yep! $299.00 What a deal!!!
...it'll probably be...a cheap rip off Ric copy. Why bother !
