Just watching the first full Ed Sullivan show w/ the Beatles. After 3 first songs came the Anacin commercial, which I found very interesting. Seems to take away any pain and anxiety. I’m more than willing to test it!

Do any of you have first hand experince on the subject?

It's just another brand of aspirin that is as effective, or not, as any other brand. I believe any other claims are pure marketing.

What?! If Ed Sullivan endorses it in US TV 1964, it surely can’t be wrong??

My mom kept a bottle around, along with some Excedrin. I thank my lucky stars every day we are not still practicing the medicine from 1964, my birth year.

Aspirin and caffeine. It is very effective against headaches but hard on the stomach

I can hardly think those ingredients would help anxiety. Were they lying in the TV commercial? Who would have known!!

I’m sure there was plenty taken that night after all the screaming.

Probably called something else in Europe. They usually don't have the same brands.

Okay, you’re right. But can this cure your anxiety disorder?

Beats the hell out of me. And I just thought that I’d finally found a cure to my current status (some sarcasm may be included) :)

My Dad took it...but we've never had it in our house, opting for plain aspirin or Tylenol. Some of the over-counter drug options appear generational.

Nah, I've got something much better. It's this new drug. Very hard to get. But so awesome. Takes away all your pain, and you'll be high as a kite. It's these little pills called placebos. If you can't find those, try to get your hands on some pirin tablets.

I stayed with my Great Grandmother a lot as a kid in thr mid 70's One of the few things I a remember distinctly were her bottles pf Anacin, Bufferin and Tums. I used to eat the Tums like they were candy lol.

And since you have triggered my memory she also used saccharine tablets which she put in her coffee. I always insisted on putting them in the cup for her, for some reason.

Aspirin is interesting because it does so many things. It’s a prostaglandin inhibitor that reduces inflammation, pain and blood clotting. No effect on the neurotransmitters that would affect anxiety levels, that I know of.

As for the caffeine I don’t think any kind of stimulant would be all that great at chilling you out.
