Impressive skills, but I'd much rather hear someone play one or two well-chosen, meaningful notes over a chord progression.

I think we can all agree the shredders are not in it for the girls.

Scotland is indeed sheltered from the world if you don't know who that is.

Esteban is a purveyor of fine musical instruments crafted from the finest plywoods.
They are shredable but not that great for playing fast on.

ANNND if you act quickly you will also receive DVDs that will absolutely, positively, maybe teach you to play just like the wonderful, stupendous, brilliant, explosive playing man himself.

I've been waiting for a Esteban vs Keith Urban showdown and guitar duel.

If Antonio had hit the late night circuit with his style, he'd have pulverized them in the plywood market!

The amount of work he must have done to get there would be staggering.
He probably practices more in a week than many of us do in a year.
Hats off to that level of dedication.

Saw that a few years ago. Look up David Maxim Micic. While not this extreme in whanckery, he does a live play-through of one of his songs on the streets of Spain(?) using a laptop. It's really nice. ;-)

Comparing to shred to pentatonic blues makes about as much sense as comparing a high-speed roller coaster to the “It’s A Small World” ride at Disneyland.

Some people like the roller coaster, some like to just float lazily along taking in the sights.

Very adept at producing notes at high speed, with a moderately irritating, boring, off-putting result that has little music in it. Arpeggios are too often simply a means of stuffing in a blizzard of notes rather than a single melodic tone, and that's the case here. How can I take a dull progression and make it complicated? Speed, when it is not varied, is not expression or melody or rhythm -- it's just speed, and that's the only thing impressive here -- speed. I like speed metal, but the Scandinavians who excel at it have so much more expression, fluidity, and varied touch and volume... which are lacking here. Stratovarious, just to pull a name out of the air, features solos that soar and move, where are this guy conveys very little, if anything, to my ears other than a blast of notes that don't add up to anything worth listening to. All frosting, no cake.

It always bothers me the disdain for fast players here. There's a lot of players people post, fast, slow, country, rock, blues, etc, that for one reason or another I don't jibe with. Just not my thing. If I don't have anything good to say I don't. Regardless, in general, I always admire the players talent; whether it's milking notes or shredding notes. I can argue that both cases suck for one reason or another.

Sure this guy was showing off. No doubt!!! However, the right notes fell and ended at the right time. There was some nice melodic bits thrown in there. Wish I had those skills. We also don't know what he else he does? I've saw this guy setting up for a show while in LA unbelievably shredding over pretty complex stuff he started on his looper. His band came on and they played reggae all night and his solos were slow and beautiful. I'm sure some here would call his warm up wanking and slow stuff boring or not expressive enough, or whatever(!), and in both cases saying it's the same old crap....
