Cream; Jimi Hendrix Experience
Not mentioned so far:
'Who Will Save the World? The Mighty Groundhogs'
THE JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION!
They probably couldn't stand each other, but what a band!
Shame they didn't get the popularity they deserved!
Well, probably only for german kids growing up in the very early 80s.
Popular!? Right. For decades when someone heard me listening to Rush, or i brought up the name, it was always a negative reaction. They were the band everyone loved to hate. Their popularity only developed, such as it is, in the last fifteen years or so. Prior to that they were about as popular as Yes or King Crimson.
Doesn't seem right to start a thread this specific, then passively clip the wings in advance of someone who mentions them. Sort of poisoning the well, it seems.
I feel the way about ZZ Top that you do Rush, so it is subjective.
Ok. Everybody is entitled to an opinion. I respect yours.
Hey. What about Zebra....
I mentioned them a bit before you and Area 51.
I mentioned Zebra in my earlier post as well. They are great!
Two great bands featuring the wonderful Jack Bruce:
BLT (Bruce / Lordan / Trower)
BBM (Bruce / Baker / Moore)
The Prodigy...except they're now a duo.
Venom's drummer lived in my street. The band used to practise in his 1st floor flat!!!!!
X & Tool were never three piece bands!
I almost forgot one of the coolest bands ever that didn’t have a guitarist:
This deep in, and no mention of Beck, Bogert, and Appice?
1 guitar, bass, & drummer make four?
How about The Who when Daltrey has laryngitis...
Well, if we aren't counting singers, I'm-a add Led Zeppelin.
Spinal Tap. The drummer(s) don't count.
