I like Ten Years After just fine, but guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums qualifies as three piece?

    Love The James Gang too.

Saw them a few times, and remember them as a trio. But that's no guarantee, as my Ten Years After nomination demonstrated.

Both great bands, but four piece bands.

I was in an electronics fix-it shop last year and repairman had stuff stacked everywhere (business was good!) and I saw one of the Fender amps sitting in waiting had Kelly Richey's name on the tag. I thought that was pretty cool.

Awesome. One of my favorite bands of the last 20 years!

I just mentioned them in the "Best Album of 2019" thread. Jim Thomas is THE reigning Master of the Stratocaster IMO.

Neither of these great instro bands has put out an album in 6 years or so, so I'm not sure if they are still active, but Big Lazy from NYC:

    And Dirty Three from Australia:

I LOVE Dirty Three. All the members have gone on to work with other folks (Nick Cave for one), do solo work, film soundtracks...

I like most of the stuff already posted. From Hendrix to the winery dogs, SRV to Motorhead, Clutch to Rush, The Police to the james gang and a whole lot more. Jazz trio's. Those euro bands I've never heard of with the freaky jams are cool too.

I'd hate to get stuck in a rut with one Genre or time period of music.

back when Kelly used a super reverb all the time, she told me she had had her amp "bullet-proofed". I've always wondered what that might be.
