Is this a spin off from, "Pleasantville"?
But they already knew they were overrated?
Really, I think they did know that. Beatlemania killed the beatles
I'm pretty sure you are in a small minority with regards to your opinion.
I got all excited when I'd first seen trailers for this. Later checked for release date, saw critics hating on it...
Still plan on renting it when that's an option.
I'd say john and paul at least shared that opinion
beatles fans are what drove them to put the kabash on the beatles
Go find a different thread to crap in.
So, Yesterday opens Tomorrow, but Today only beatles superfans are allowed to talk about it
I notice a lack of supporting evidence. Otherwise, a not very interesting piece of revisionist history you have there. Hopefully this small bit of truth doesn't offend
Ok. It's all yours. Crap away.
I won't say anything regarding my opinion of Hollywood movies (hint: I don't watch many) but I feel this is worth mentioning - this forum is good, but made better by the use of the ignore function.
I want to see this. The main guy starred in Eastenders, which my wife watches religiously, and we both love The Beatles. Winner winner chicken dinner.
we are going to 7:20 show tonight!
Does he really sing "Hey Dude " ?
That is a laugh. When it hits cable, I'm in.
We saw it last night (early opening). It’s a great premise for the movie, and the lead actor does a good job in my opinion. And, there are a few very nice twists. I’d recommend seeing it - I am glad I saw it before reading all of the spoilers.
Had a nice review in The i today. However, I seem to be the only person so far who has realised it’s basically a rehash of the awful BBC series Goodnight Sweetheart in which the protagonist went back in time to the Second World War and pretended to have written The Beatles songs.
Fan freaking tastic movie.
And yes, this Beatle-y thing does have an incredible premise.
The surprise ending is that everything completely goes off the rails and everyone starts disliking the songs because Ringo’s not drumming.
And they don’t even know who or what a Ringo is , they just know somethings not right…
I say to people that dis the Beatles go and learn how to play a few of their songs like dear prudence, a day in the life, Mother Natures Son, Blackbird.
They are not easy to play correctly and are far from beginners basic songs.
They are a great Segway into more advanced finger style imo.
Watched it last night, light rom com w Beatles tunes. If Hugh Grant was younger he would have been in the lead role.
And this is about all I expect it to be. I just want to go to the movies and have a bit of a laugh and hear some great tunes.
I agree with you, this is not high art, just a fun movie with some Beatles music in it...
We are flying to Minnesota tomorrow morning, so my wife and I will be going to see it on vacation!! I for one can't wait to see and enjoy it!
