Hey guys,

I've been using my thr for a few years now and really enjoy it, but 99% of the time I'm using it at my computer, and lately I've been using it as an interface to play through plugins. I've been looking at getting an amp for my basement and Im wondering if I should get a real amp or just put the thr down there and get an interface and monitors. Would dedicated studio monitors produce noticeably better sound than the THR? I think I only have room for 3.5-4" monitors standing upright but may be able to do 8" lying on their side.

Monitors--fancy studios have lots of expensive monitors and the reason is always so you can hear all sorts of of detail, but most music is listened to in cars, on earbuds or in some other low of mid-fi medium. Getting a mix to "translate" is the hardest part. Dedicated studio monitors will surely give you better sound--guitar amps were historically not good at producing either a lot of low end or a lot of high and, and the THR series models that. Y9ou wil likley get more bass and more "sizzle."
