Thank you. Glad someone gets my (increasingly old fart) humor.

Re: the issue at hand, we get an occasional Big Tin at work. It does not last. I am not supposed to have popcorn, according to a specialist doctor I went to see once. Yet, it is an occasional treat that I do enjoy. I can't seem to break the habit of buying the super gonzo size bag when we go to the movies; it's literally 75c more than the weeny / this just ain't enough size. So: I just don't go to the movies very often ;)

Not so crazy about the cheesy popcorn though... just a bit too far along the artificial scale for me...

Like it well enough but when you can do it yourself at home in 3 minutes...why not fresh?

    1. 3 tbsp olive oil in big covered pot, 3 kernels, covered (duh), high heat
    2. When the 3 kernels pop, the oil is ready.
    3. Add 1/2 cup popcorn
    4. Enjoy popcorny goodness.
    5. Repeat.

I don't like flavored stale popcorn, either.

    Easiest popcorn method I know:

Get a big microwave safe Pyrex bowl.
Put in a 1/4 cup of popcorn.
Put a microwave proof plate over the top.
Turn on the microwave and let it run on high for around 3-4 minutes.
    Don't let it burn.
Season to taste with melted butter and salt.

DANGER! Be careful as there will be hot steam when you take off the plate. Use pan grabbers or hot pads.

We were using olive oil, but have MUCH better results with coconut oil (same stuff they use at movie theaters). Skip the expensive stuff at the grocery store and order from amazon...... they even have the stuff that's dyed orange to give you the entire movie theater experience.

I like it because it's like candy but you can always say it's a vegetable! Plus it's great to have around when you run out of bacon.

Only get to eat them when a customer brings it to work around the holidays. We always eat the cheese first, then caramel, and regular last.

That's the thing, I don't think anybody buys it for their own personal consumption. It always comes from somewhere else.
