I note that these guys appear to be new assemblers in Canada. http://www.x3guitars.com/

They make a tele copy with a vintage style bridge and shielding. As I can tell, they are affiliated with J & D Luthiers, or at least apparently use some of their parts/pickups. I think it's Chinese-made, ala Eastwood.

Anyone have any experiences with them yet?

Yeah, yeah I know. Fender meets BC Rich.

Let's assume for the moment that they provided a more "authentic" headstock... Can't tell whether is stringthrough or not right now, I've emailed.

Take a look at the right side of the guitar. Look how much space is in between the pickguard and the edge of the body, kinda funky looking.

I wouldn't play it.... Hopefully it sounds good.... 'Cause it doesn't look good!

It's not a string through-- Look closely, you can see the ball end of the string by the calabration screws.

Well here's the reason I asked in the first place:

(link removed)

It doesn't have the nasty headstock. It's a toploader, too. Maybe I will hold out for more promising waters. Any more thoughts?
