    RELAY® G10 TRANSMITTER

CORRECTIVE ACTION REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY FOR RELAY G10, RELAY G10S, AND RELAY G10T WIRELESS PRODUCTS PURCHASED PRIOR TO MARCH 2020.
Line 6 has asked us to let you know that several instances of extreme overheating and a risk of fire presented by the Relay G10T wireless transmitter have been reported since the product was introduced in 2016. All instances of overheating reportedly occurred during charging.

In March 2020, Line 6 issued a "recall-to-repair" with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall to repair is designed to prevent overheating and the risk of fire, and simply requires users to install a firmware update. The latest G10T firmware version is 1.06. Please be sure to update your transmitter if you are not on this latest version. It takes about five minutes to complete this process. Click below for update instructions.

I did too. I know someone who uses a G10 and so I forwarded it to her. It’s a good PSA and I’m glad the TDPRI put it out cuz I wouldn’t have known.

That just means that they’ve had enough serious accidents to now warrant telling everyone

I'll stick with my Xvive. But I'm always there when it's charging. That's an old habit from my RC days and those hot Li-Po units.

    Regrettably so.

Doesn't USPS decline to ship 'em?
My lil wireless unit is Not Line 6 but may have similar components - wondering if I can still upgrade firmware?
    Peace - Deeve

You can ship them UPS, just not 2nd day or Next Day. Same with FedEx. Basically, you can't ship them on an airplane. I deal with this a lot for work. Some of ours come from Europe. They have to be shipped over on a boat. Large pia.

I like to imagine the meeting where these batteries were accepted.

"Hey, we need a better battery for our batter powered widgets."

"Well, we have been doing some testing with lithium ion and they last much longer and aren't expensive to make."

"Exactly what we want! What would our profit margin be? Are there any downsides?"

"Our profit margin will be twice that of our current batteries. Downside is they catch fire easily and we won't be able to ship them on an airplane if we get them made overseas."

    "Let's do it."
