When it comes to setting up a a "lightning" bridge (the bar type with the squiggly boss along the top for string compensation...looks sort of like a lightning bolt), I always adjust individual string height by making small adjustments to the string grooves with nut files. It makes a world of difference.

Why? Should I post a picture of the pristine, undamaged slots on my Maestro Jr.? Or will you believe me that *without string tension* a nickel works perfectly fine?

If there's no string string tension, sure. If there's any at all, the radius tries to climb out of the slot. What I'm saying is that it's best practice to use a tool designed for the job.
