Would you eat/swallow a Carolina Reaper for $20? $50? $100?

The Carolina Reaper is 2.2 million scoville units, a jalepeno is around 8,000 scovilles
and a habanero is around 300,000 scovilles.

How much would it take to get you to eat and swallow a Carolina Reaper?

For most things there would be a price that I would try it. This is a case where I am not sure I would do it. One is your saying an entire Carolina Reaper and two is it is just too hot. I think the answer is I will pass.

    Not for a million.
I can’t cope with that stuff anymore.
    It takes my breath away.
Oh well, I got nothing to prove.

How much is your life worth? That would be what you are risking.
I'm not ready to die from convulsions or to have my esophagus and intestines get a hole burnt in them.

No. Although I tried the hottest sauce available at a store in Charleston SC once for free. I under estimated what it would be like. I spent several minutes pacing the sidewalk hoping not to go into cardiac arrest, then got some ice cream. I hot food, but not insanely hot.

My youngest son grew some Apocalypse Trinidad Scorpion peppers this year, you need to wear gloves and a respirator mask to cut them up, really! One pepper in a LARGE container of salsa is very hot, he made some w 2 peppers and I can't eat it, and I love hot food!
There is no way I'd ever try eating one whole, it's up there with the Carolina Reaper for heat.
Some folks have gotten serious injuries and or died from doing stupid stunts like that.

Nope. No thanks. An ordinary Habanero is as hot as I care to go and some of them are too hot for me. Too many other good things to eat.

    Help yourself!

Willingly subjecting myself to severe discomfort for nothing more than the amusement and/or approval of others isn’t going to happen.

My only experience with the reaper was the Paqui one chip. The heat wasn't bad, but it tasted like crap. I love their ghost pepper chips.

For a Fender Custom Shop Telecaster, I probably would make a run at it... ;)

I'm growing ghost chiles right now. I grow jalapenos and serranos year-round. Getting back into growing anaheims and poblanos too.

I wouldn't eat a whole ghost or reaper chile for almost any amount of money. I've eaten a tiny sliver of a ghost straight; that was as far as I'd go.

These kind of superhots are largely just an exercise in ''how far can we go''. But used cautiously I like 'em. I keep a bottle filled with the ghosts and vinegar; sprinkle the vinegar on lots of stuff. Throw one in the deep fryer to season the peanut oil. I'll be using them in chili next winter.

I’m into hot peppers but I think at that level it’s more of an internal damage pain than a spicy pain not to mention the day after;)

I’d do it for a million maybe if proper medical personnel were on site

A time machine to take me back to when I was a stupid “bro” .

Oh wait, I never was. So I guess never .

On second thought - a condom ! In the wrapper. (I’ve seen enough drug-smuggling movies to know how it’s done)

How many do you want me to eat ?

    6 ? 8 ?

    I won’t even get a tummy ache.

    Stunt food.

Wash it down with one of those pine needle and cat litter waaaaay over-hopped IPA’s...

I just watched a youtoob video of two young women sitting on a patio, eating one Carolina Reaper each. After watching their reactions, I don't think I'll be trying that.

Although, if presented with the opportunity, I'd probably try a very small bite of one (a pepper, not a girl), just out of curiosity.
