A friend of mine married an Australian woman. He insisted they name their first born son Max. She still has no idea why...

my college baseball coach when you walked back to the dugout after an error or a strikeout... he'd do the maxwell smart voice and say 'missed it by that much'... man, it would be a relief when you just screwed up.

For no reason, I still remember watching an NBC season preview of new shows on the night before starting junior high school. It was hosted by Don Adams in his Max Smart persona, complete with phone shoe and telephone booth. At least that's what I remember.

I'm going into the cone of silence.

(I only saw the show in syndication in the late 70s)

Yeah, but you're only highlighting part of my post on new shows. I see it in movies too.

What new has the incredible timing we know from some classics. I'll try to describe. You can know what's coming next. Some productions have timing that makes you laugh and some not.

Now I want to look for F Troop and see if I think it's as funny decades later.

My old man used to roar any time they even said his name... Buck Henry would be pilloried today, but man, he made me laugh.

I didn’t think so when I saw it a few years back. Kinda made me sad that I didn’t laugh; it was a high point of my youth. Get Smart, on the other hand, will always be funny. And if you disagree, don’t tell me to shush. Ve don’t “shush” here!
