I'm bouncing off the walls this morning... last night I won the WSOP Circuit Potawatomi "Seniors" Event, topping a field of 462 entrants to claim the coveted "ring":

Congratulations! Was it just the ring or did it include a buy in for the 2017 Main Event in Vegas?
Mrs jackinjax is the poker player in my family. She dreams of playing in that tournament. Unfortunately, my poker face and body language is about as subtle as a six year old who got a pony on Christmas morning.

WOW! Congratulations! I imagine that was quite the payday. Heading to Vegas next weekend, hoping to meet some fish at Excalibur or MGM. But the question is...where do the real fish live?

Unfortunately, the Seniors events on the WSOP Circuit are not official "Player of the Year" events, so winners do not get the 10K buy-in to WSOP Main Event. I was quite happy that we had enough entrants (462) to have them put a ring into play for this one!

"What was the final hand?" - funny, I have gotten that Q dozens of times since Saturday... almost embarrassed to say - it was 10-3 suited  Not really as bad as it sounds - When we go head's up I have him covered 5 to 1 in chips. I completed the bet from the button/small blind, and he checked his option and open shoved immediately on the flop. He had top pr - but unfortunately for him I caught a 4-flush and NFW was I folding with that big a lead. I did NOT hit the flush, but hit 2 running cards on turn/river, 10 and 3 to give me 2 pair and the RING!!

    no-limit hold em

you may have already seen this post, Papa - the gears are in motion!

There's a good book documenting a reporters experience covering & playing in the final table for big bucks called Positively Fifth Street.
