The last wooden coaster I rode was the Big Dipper at Camden Park, WV back in 2011. After riding it, I watched my daughter and her friends ride it a second time. Watching the half rotted support beams bend and sway were enough to keep me and them from any additional rides!

I always associate roller coasters with dates.

My first all day date was at the Big Dipper in Santa Cruz. My first getting serious date was at The Giant Dipper at Mission Bay near San Diego: IMG_4793.PNG

    Wood has better Tone.
    Steel has better Sustain.

You have no choice but to try both and decide which is best! :)

After trying many...i just dont like em...the wooden one at blackpool looked like the pink panther had patched it up...bent nails poking out...shook my fillings loose and the change from my pockets...a metal one at scarborough...looked like meccano...actually moved on the ground and wobbled all over...no thanks
i would rather go stunt flying in a dehavilland tiger moth with woodworm
my mum had a screaming fit on me when i was 6..i wouldnt go on the wooden one in battersea park...it collapsed not long after...even as a kid i felt vindicated..
i can still remember the Danish Hag (she wasnt really a hag to look at..looks can be decieving) shaking me with fury....

1972...broke up like lollysticks and matches
i work in lifting gear and health and safety...ive seen the dodges they use to keep things going too...

Wood. The original Texas Giant at SFOT was my favorite. I’d like to go try the Bullet at the Kemah boardwalk in Houston, too.
