My Tele currently has black domes, with the chrome in a bag somewhere, in case I decide to switch back.

There's something philosophically wrong, I think, in having numbered knobs on a Tele. They're supposed to be knurled. They're supposed to be grabbed and moved all over while you're playing, like Gatton and Buchanan and Beck did. Having numbers leads to thinking "having the tone on 7 sounds good, I'll leave it there". That's fine for Strat guys, I guess, but not for the Telecaster.

    two knobs-- chrome

four-- gimmie the hats. customs and deluxes need the hats...four chrome knobs and i couldn't tell where anything was at! probably just my brain...

i will admit to having a black strat (gasp!) knob on the tone pot of my american standard...there's a couple of different sweet spots on that pot for me, and it's nice to have #'s as a visual reference...

amp knobs on my 60s Classic

Well, I guess I'm a contrarian. I have leftover amp knobs from my Allen Hot Fudge/w Nuts on my 60s Classic. (I was shipped extra knobs and David said to not bother shipping them back.) The black knobs with the black body look nice and are very grippy. No numbers but the indicator line is useful.

Hmm, seems pretty unanimous. That said, follow suit with what "kingofdogs1950" has started and post pics of your teles with unconventional knobs!

You should make this a poll. I like the domes.

Hats for me. But I won't kick domes outta bed for eatin' crackers.

Certainly not witch hats. Use the chrome domes. For myself I like the flat top chrome knobs for a tele.

Sometimes - "gasp" - I wake up in the morning and the witch hats have been replaced with domes and vicy versy! My rigs have a life of their own - sometimes they like to change their look! Sometimes I impart my will, sometimes I just let them be...
