Hello all.

I want to ask what is the difference between the standard wiring Telecaster
and the 1966.

Thanks.

There is no difference. The capacitor is wired in a different way, but the result is exactly the same.

Depending on the size of the capacitor, you might prefer one diagram or the other for making it fit and look neat.

I just looked under the hood of my Squire Affinity which has a sweet tone throughout the volume 1-10 and discovered they put a .001uf cap in line with the volume to boost the highs during volume knob roll off.

I made same mod to my MIM Tele and what a huge improvement!

I had to replace the 3-way switch in my Tele. I have an 8 pin inline switch instead of the offset one like the original. I have the standard 2 single coil config. I cannot find a diagram ANYWHERE with the 8 pin. For some reason, I can only get one pup to work.At first, I had the bridge pup working fine, but when I switched to neck, the pup was barely audible and worked off the tone control. Then, I changed the wires around on the neck pup and it works now, but the bridge pup don't work. I'm pulling my hair out here, lol.

It's called an "Import" Switch. Drove me nuts until I figured out the difference! Hope this helps!

I did it up the exact same as the diagram and it still doesn't work right. The front pup doesn't work on it's own in pos 3. As far as I can tell, it doesn't work at all. It did work on 1 of my tries with other switch, so I know it's functional.

Does that pickup work in the middle position? If it does I'd suspect the switch, if it doesn't it could be an issue with the pickup.

That is what's driving me nuts, lol. I've tried 3 different switches, and I know the pup works, and this switch came out of a brand new guitar.

Sometimes you'll break a coil winding on a pickup and not even know it. They can be verry sensitive. Just saying sometimes within a swap from one to another something goes wrong.
