No, just two regular Tele pickups. According to the documentation that folks on this thread were kind enough to hook me up with, this system can handle various combinations of pickups. Three pickups, humbuckers, combinations of single coils and humbuckers. Ironically, the documents don't show the wiring and dip switch settings for the basic configuration that I have. Or maybe I'm just not seeing it.

The model you have does not support the standard two single coil Tele Configuration. The Toneshaper came in several different models to support various pickup configurations. It is not a one size fits all device. For two single coils you would have wanted the 3 or 4 way switch Toneshaper.

I've heard of guys putting 4-ways in, so when I found this had a 5-way, I knew it was going to be an adventure. Would love to know the history. I believe the guy I got it from was in the dark about the mod, but am surprised that he didn't question the person he got it from.

P.S. The only problem I think you may have is that 5-way system is designed for an HH, HSH or SSS configuration.
It isn't designed and probably won't work as expected if you have a standard SS configured Tele.
From the looks of things under the hood, the previous owner may have tried to rig it.
For a standard SS Tele, Toneshaper only ever offered a 3-Way or 4-Way system.

I think that's what may have happened. Maybe when they couldn't get it to work, they just flipped it. Not cool, but certainly a possibility.
